چکیده
I PROPOSE in this addless to approach evolution, not fromii the controversial side or fromll general arguments, but from a plain statemen1t of a series of facts, mnany of themn drawit from my personal experieinee as a sur-geon ancd anatomnist-facts which, to imiy mind, absolutely demonstrate the solidaiitv of animial life, more especially in the ease of the vertebrates, such as fislh, birds, other imainiials an(l imaii, the Iighest mnammal. Many opponients of evolution admiiit the gradual (levelopuient of animal life fr om its lowest formii up to anid including the anthropoid apes, but they dIraw the line there, basing this blelief on the accounit in Genesis. Man, thev insist, stan(. as a separate dir ect creationi by the Almighty, "out of the dust of the ground." Such an argument is like declaring that the laws of mathematics reign in numbers up) to, say, 100,000 or 1,000,000, but bevond that linmit are no longer valid.

Alveolar Antral Artery: Review of Surgical Techniques Involving this Anatomic Structure
Introduction: The horizontal bony canal in the lateral maxillary wall is the site of anastomosis between the arterial branches from the posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAa) and the infraorbital artery. This anatomic structure is known as the ‘alveolar antral artery’. Materials and Methods: We performed a literature review. The anatomic location of the alveolar antral artery in the latera...
متن کاملFailure of Anatomic Total Shoulder Arthroplasty with Revision to Another Anatomic Total Shoulder Arthroplasty
Background: While outcomes of primary anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA) are generally favorable, resultsafter revision procedures are less reliable. This study examines the functional outcomes, complications, and implantsurvival in patients who underwent revision of aTSA to aTSA.Methods: Patients who underwent revision aTSA were identified from 2008-2015. Demographic, clinical, surgic...
متن کاملAnatomic Variations of Brachial Plexus: A Cadaveric Study
Introduction: The brachial plexus is responsible for the innervation to the upper limb and some parts of the thorax. Variations in the branching of the brachial plexus are common and have been reported in 65.3% of the population. The variations (Atypical communication) of brachial plexus have significant clinical and surgical importance. Methods: In this study 10 upper limbs which belonged...
متن کاملRevision of Anatomic Total Shoulder Arthroplasty to Hemiarthroplasty: Does it work?
Background: The projected increase in revision shoulder arthroplasty has increased interest in the outcomes of theseprocedures. Glenoid component removal and conversion to a hemiarthroplasty (HA) is an option for aseptic glenoidloosening after anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA).Methods: We identified patients who had undergone revision shoulder arthroplasty over a 15-...

The anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system of the extremities is reviewed, with special refe;ence to increasing knowledge from lymphangiography. The surgical treatment of primary lymphoedema of the extremities by transposition of superficial lymphatics into the deep compartment of the limb employing a buried "Shaved" skin flap "Thompson" operaion was ,used in 2 cases with excellent...
متن کاملThe Perioperative Impact of Surgical Case Order in Primary Total Shoulder Arthroplasty
Background: The purpose of this study was to determine a correlation between surgical case order and the length ofoperative time, total length of time in the operating room, time until discharge from the hospital, and the incidence ofintraoperative complications for primary total shoulder arthroplasty cases. Methods: A retrospective review was conducted of records for all individual primary tota...
